Facebook Ads: Review and Improve

Once your Facebook Ads campaign is live and running for a few days, you should have a decent amount of data to study, with a few leads trickling in here and there… now what? Now is the fun part. You can review your ad campaign, tweak your ad copies and remove / improve what you currently have in place.

Inside Facebook Ads Manager

When logged into the Facebook Ads Manager, you will have access to an amazing wealth of information regarding your ad campaigns and who is clicking on what. You will also have the full functionality to create, edit, and optimize current or new ad campaigns.
  • Get basic data about your ads, such as impressions and clicks
  • Learn about your audience’s age, gender, and location at an aggregate level
  • View specific time periods to learn how your ad performance has evolved

Breakdown of Facebook Ads Statistics

  • Campaign Reach – The number of individual people who saw Sponsored Stories or ads in this campaign during the dates selected. This is different thank impressions, which includes people seeing the same ad multiple times.
  • Frequency – The average number of times each person saw your campaign’s Sponsored Stories or ads.
  • Social Reach – People who saw your Sponsored Stories or ads with the names of their friends who liked your Page, RSVPed to your event, or used your app. If you’re not using Sponsored Stores or advertising a Page, event, or app, you won’t have social reach.
  • Connections – The number of people who liked your Facebook Page, RSVPed to your event, or installed your app within 24 hours of seeing a Sponsored Story or ad in this campaign. If you’re not promoting a Page, event, or app, you won’t see Connections data.

At first it may seem like a lot of information to absorb, but once you start to create a few ad campaigns, you will realize how easy it is to manage campaigns and know what to look for. When you are promoting an affiliate offer or landing page, you will not need to focus on numbers such as “Social Reach” and “Connections”, but instead focus on overall impressions, clicks, click through rates, conversions and profit/loss.
