If you look on the internet, you will find many people wondering what alternatives there are to Google AdWords. Even I have made articles like this myself. The simple answer is that there are hundreds if not thousands of alternatives to AdWords. As well as that, there are many alternatives to PPC. However, I think I have found a new cheap way to advertise online. It costs you under $10 a year and your results can be far better than AdWords. But, before I tell you of my new alternative, let me explain the downsides to advertising using PPC and AdWords.

The problem I wanted to change with PPC is the fact that it is short term. When I say short term, I mean that you pay for advertising and you get traffic. After that, nothing. No traffic; no money; no income. This is where PPC lets itself down. To truly become a great advertising network, it needs to have the capability to achieve results in the long term far more cost efficiently and easier.

Another problem I found with AdWords and PPC is the cost. Yes, it is one of the . This is still quite expensive. I have Adsense running on my websites. The average cost per click is $0.61. If I wanted to gain around 5,000 targeted views to a specific page, that would cost me as the advertiser $3,050. It’s incredibly expensive! Yet, my alternative costs $10/year.

I think pay per click needs to introduce a little of what affiliate marketing has to offer. With PPC, once that advert has been clicked, the publisher won’t care one bit about what happens on the landing page. They have gained a click which will make them money. With affiliate marketing, the publishers cares about what the ‘clicker’ does on the landing page because it is the factor that determines whether the publisher makes any money or not. This system rely on a lot more depth than PPC. PPC is effective in some areas. However, providing depth to advertising is not it’s strong point. But, for my alternative, it is it’s strength.

S0 What is it?

It’s called blogging.

You heard me right: blogging. Many people don’t know it but blogging is one of the best ways to get targeted customers to your site. Here is why blogging can be an AdWords alternative:

  • The customers search key terms associated with your business into Google. Therefore, your traffic will automatically be targeted from organic sources.
  • Organic sources of traffic will not disappear like PPC advert budgets do. They are there for the long term until another update from Google happens and thinks your content is fake…which is extremely unlikely to happen!
  • There is a one-off cost for the domain which at maximum will be around $10….blogging is very cheap!
  • Your content will bring a reader-base which you can use for email marketing.
  • You can use the full potential of social media on your articles.
  • The content will bring in organic traffic. See your content as the advert which brings in the traffic.

The only real negative is the time it takes to create high quality articles. Yet, you will find that blogging in the long term is far more healthier than a long term PPC campaign (it is also a lot cheaper too!). Look at it in this way. If you had long term debts, you would take out a loan. If you had short term debts, you would use an overdraft. You wouldn’t use an overdraft for long term debts and a loan for short term debts, would you?
