Facebook Ads is a completely different monster when it comes to advertising online when compared to Pay Per Click marketing. While Facebook does offer a pay per click model, the audience, targeting and bidding structure is quite different.

The infographic below, created by Jon Loomer,  does a great job at detailing some of the most used and little understood categories and advertising terms used when creating campaigns. Before starting your first Facebook Ads campaign, make sure you understand what you are working with.

In addition to the infographic, we’ve also listed a few Facebook Ads tips for you below.

  • Always set a low daily budget. There are over a billion users on Facebook and they can run through your ad spend very quickly.
  • To get the lowest cost per click rate, you will need to increase your click through rate. To increase your click through rate be sure to split test a ton of different images and ad copy, then eliminate the ones that don’t perform well.
  • Don’t focus on just the United States. There are over a billion users on Facebook and only a portion of them are within the United States. Scale outside of the US to reach new and lesser targeted audiences.

Be sure to reflect back to this post when setting up your first FB Ads campaign.
