Email marketing is a lucrative business which I feel not everyone is using to its full potential. For example,2 Email Marketing Tips To Get Clicks there are lots of websites out there that are running great websites in specific niches online. However, they are simply just writing content and not looking at the possibility of marketing things of that niche to a dedicated audience interested in that niche. An example, unfortunately, is with myself, but this is mainly due to time that I cannot conduct email marketing for one of my websites. RestoringMamods.com, if you visit the website, is a very specific niche that can definately benefit from introducing email marketing for parts and accessories to Mamod steam engines. If only I had more time, but my poetry analysis website, PoemAnalysis.com and its email marketing campaigns are taking up more time than I thought!

Regardless of this, here are six tips anyone can use to help get them more clicks on their emails they market to their audiences.

#1 Email as if you are emailing to one person

It is more important than ever online to make sure you come across as a human being. People hate talking to robots and content that sounds robotic. For this reason, you need to make your email as personal as possible, so that every single subscriber to your emails feels as if that email was especially for them.

There is no right or wrong way to do this. But, some ways to make sure you are not sounding robotic and ‘non-personal’, if that is a word, is by:

  • Never mentioning subscriber numbers or refer to your audeince as an audience, subscribers, or anything else that is grouping them all together into one.
  • Refer to your subscribers as their actual names that they input into your lead capture page for email marketing.
  • Always provide useful information. Do not just email people for the sake of it to try and make money – only email people if you have a genuine reason to email them.

#2 Write Engaging Emails

Again, this is easier said than done. Some people online can generally write about anything and make it engaging enough for web users to read, just from sounding excited, enthuastic and motivated. For those that are writing emails on a Monday morning, this might not be as easy to do. For this reason, here are simple tips to write in a way that is likely to increase the engagement level with your audience:

  • Make sure your personality comes through. This could be done by using ‘slang’ terms, cracking a joke to your audience or giving across an opinion to your audience without it being controversial.
  • Write quickly. I have found in the past that a great way to get emails to sound more enthusiastic is to simply type quicker, since this helps to make you think quicker and adds some urgency to your writing which translates as excited and enthusiastic to your readers.
  • Write first person and address the web user directly. Words such as ‘I’, ‘you’ and especially ‘we’ work well in creating a bond and relationship between you and your readers, drawing them closer into the contents of the email.
