This amazing free software is powering some of the multi-million dollar web sites online such as TechCrunch and PerezHilton. Who would have thought something so important and influential would be free?

Nearly half of the sites are driven by the hosted and self-hosted versions of WordPress. The closest competition behind WordPress is custom platforms and Movable Type. It’s safe to say WordPress is the platform of choice in the blogging and CMS world.
