AdWords For Beginners 14 Dec 2011

Google AdWords is the mother of all Pay Per Click Campaigns of PPC which is how they are frequently referred to as. This type of campaign allows you to find a very economical solution for your ad campaign. How it works is that you only pay for your ad when someone clicks on it. So if you have your ad up for a year and no one clicks on it you don’t have to pay a dime. But you wouldn’t allow it to stay up for a year without it being effective as Adwords has a great tracking system that keeps you in the know so that you can make the required changes to your ad campaign to ensure that it is successful.

Now you know that AdWords is one of the best and most cost effective ways to run an advertising campaign let me tell you a little more about how it works. For one, there are two networks for which you can have your ads displayed on. They can be displayed on either the display network or the search network.

The Display Network is comprised mainly of Adsense ads that you find on websites across the internet and if you choose that network that is how your ad will be displayed. These advertisements are usually mainly images with little text or entire video advertisements. So if you want a video advertisement or an ad that is mainly an image then the display network should be your choice.

The search network places ads on the right side of Google where your results show up when you do a search. So for instance when you search for “green monkeys” in the Google search engine you will see a list of websites going down on the left of the screen. These lists usually have a link and a short description of the page below. If you look to the right of those you will see a couple ads, these are ads that have been placed on the search network and they are mainly text ads.

Now you are excited about getting started with Adwords? Great! It is pretty easy to set up and you do everything right on the internet. It allows you to target your buyers so that you do not end up wasting your advertising dollars. This means that the ads will only show up for persons in a particular geographical location or whatever you choose to define your target market. You have complete control and will be able to see how well your ad is performing within the first day. This gives you the ability to easily change the advertisement or anything else related to it to get better results.

To set up your account all you need to do is go to the Google AdWords page where you will find step by step instructions as to how to set up your account. You can create a video and have it ready then do your keyword researches using the Google keyword tool or any other keyword tool you wish to use. Next you want to create your campaign and choose the specifications for your target group. You next need to create an ad group and type in the copy that will show with your ad ensuring to include the appropriate keyword/s. Then you just choose a daily budget, then you are done and all you are doing now is waiting on the approval of your campaign by the AdWords team.
