For websites that gain the majority of their revenue from advertising platforms such as Adsense, Ezoic and PPC, making sure you optimise your website to produce as much revenue as possible from such advertising platforms is crucial. There are many things you can do to improve the performance of your Adsense account, for which Ezoic seems to do quite well using artifical intelligence integration. However, does this mean this is the best you can do for your website to make it the most amount of money? Apparently not, especially after finding a new website that will help to further increase your website’s revenue by, potentially, a further 15-25%. The website I am referring to is called Sovrn, for which I will go into detail about how great percentages are achieved.
What is Sovrn?
Sovrn is website which implements code on to your website with the objective to further increase how much money you make from PPC.
This is done through a new statistic which Sovrn calculates, called the ‘viewable engaged time’. This is determined by looking at:
- The viewability of the advert – This is the percentage of the advert that is viewable to the reader on the web page.
- The engagement of the web user – This is the length of time that a web user is active on a web page.
Combining these together and you get the viewable engaged time. It is the time that the advert is viewable while the web user is engaged with the web page. From determining this, it is possible for advertisers to bid more for advertising space on websites where the advertising spaces are in areas with high viewable engaged time. This is because the higher the viewable engaged time is, the more likely the advertising space is to be viewed, engaged with and clicked on by the web user. Sovrn looks to improve the viewable engaged time and reduce the dwell time of the website which, in turns, would increase the CPM of the advertising space.
What is the Fee?
Sovrn takes a 30% cut of the revenue produced from the adverts, which is not too bad considering Adsense is currently at 38%.
Should You Use Sovrn?
This is an interesting one. After seeing what Sovrn can do for a website, I am stuck between two minds. It appears that it is a website which can further improve upon a platform, such as Ezoic. However, considering Ezoic uses artificial intelligence to determine how best to monetise a website, I struggle to understand how Sovrn could further improve such a platform.
Nevertheless, the best way to determine whether to use such a service is to get numbers from using the service. So, without delay, I will try Sovrn on one of my larger content mills, PoemAnalysis.com, to see just how much it could improve the advertising stream on the website. So stay tuned on PPC.org to see an update to this in the coming weeks/months.
