One of the biggest factors in running a successful or failing ad campaign, is the “laziness” factor that applies to so many marketers when it comes to online marketing. So many affiliates will want to direct link campaigns, just because it is easier and saves time, but in the end, creating a landing page allows you to target any niche audience and pre-sell them before hitting your actual offer. When you are direct linking to an affiliate offer or sales page, think of it as hitting people with “the average”… but when you build your own landing page, you can heavily swing the conversions and interaction in your favor.

The biggest turn off to building your own landing page is the time it takes, but mostly because so many people don’t know how, or even where to start. Over the next several weeks, I will be creating a series of landing page template related posts which will review different ways for you to build your own landing pages.

When it comes to creating a landing page, you have a lot of options…

  • Outside to a high end landing page firm
  • Using wordpress themes built for landing pages
  • Creating images that can be used on PPV landing pages
  • Editing simple free landing page templates

This post will be the first of many, and will provide you with many different ways that you can start creating landing pages without having to stress out and master the arts of web design.

For our first method of landing page creation, let’s make it an easy one. Over a year ago I launched my own free landing page template through my blog at ZacJohnson.com. I knew there was a huge demand for landing page templates, and making a super simple and stupid design, then allowing my readers to download the simple HTML design and change around the design and concept to their own… well, let’s just say it’s been one of my most successful and appreciate posts over the years.

You can click here to read the landing page post, or simply follow along with the screenshots below.

The first screenshot we have below is the simple landing page I created, which is one of the files included in the download. Everything is already laid out for you and you just need to put in the necessary text and content to match any ad campaign.

After taking some time to select an offer you would like to promote, then filling in the landing page template with your desired information, you may end up with something like the result below. The images and text in the landing page below were a mixture of downloaded royalty free images, and text/images from the actual offer that was being promoted. Best of all, this was all done through a simple HTML editor, no need for photoshop or programmer skills.
