If you are passionate about one topic, and passionate enough to want to write about that topic on a daily or regular basis, you may want to consider the possibilities to earn extra money through the world of affiliate marketing.  Affiliate marketing means that you earn a small percentage of money any time someone clicks through your site onto another e-retailer site like Amazon.  If you have quality content on your site to attract people to your site regarding your topic, then there is a good chance that they will click through your site to purchase something related to the topic that you focus on.

There is actual money to be made in this way, but you can’t go about the process in a haphazard manner.  You should clearly think about your approach, and spend some time to consider how you are going to continue to be successful in your efforts.

First, you have to establish and create the website itself.  Consider using a blog platform to create your new website.  A blog platform can be acquired easily, and has a lot of templates available to you, including templates that need little to no computer programming skills to operate.  If you can use Microsoft Windows, then you should be able to manage a blog.  Using a site platform like WordPress gives you the opportunity to quickly create a site that can be easily customizable for your purposes.

Secondly, you need to decide on what you are going to write about.  This should be a topic about something that you either already have a lot to say about, or something that you wouldn’t mind learning a lot more about.  Remember, you will end up having to immerse yourself in the world of whatever is your niche topic, so don’t pick something you think you will get sick of.  One good way to think about it is to consider yourself as a guest at a party. If you get stuck talking to a stranger at that party over the punch bowl, what would be the one topic that you wouldn’t mind talking about for the duration of the party. This should probably be the topic you go with, because if you can talk about it in person to a stranger at a party, then you can probably write about it to strangers on the internet.

Next, you actually have to get the content out of your head (or out of your party small talk routine) and onto the web.  If you did use a blog platform as the basis of the website, this part of the process shouldn’t be overly difficult.  WordPress allows the user to save posts to be published at a later date.  With this technique, you can create a bunch of content at once, and schedule it to be posted slowly over time.  The better the quality of your content is, the more likely that you will attract interested customers to your site.
